Will There be a Recession? Despite so many predicting a severe economic downturn, we have not seen any significant indications that things are slowing. In fact, in most industries, businesses are re-tooling, re-shaping and preparing to take advantage of the growth that is predicted over the next several years.

Will There be a Recession? It is always interesting to listen to “notable economists” and some of the “financial talking heads” (collectively referred to as they and them) try to predict if and when the economy will slow down, and offer reasons why. The running joke (and rather truthful joke) is that “they” have predicted 9 of the last 3 recessions.

It’s a New Year and a New Direction. Election Day, 2024 offered evidence that the recent direction of the nation was not what the voters wanted. The Trump campaign not only won the electoral college, but won every swing state and also the popular vote. At the time of this writing, prospective Presidential cabinet members are in the process of being confirmed in the U.S. Senate, under the “Advise and Consent” process authorized in the Constitution.

At the start of this year, the Fed had hinted at 5-7 Interest Rate Cuts…and so far we received just 1. The Federal Reserve Board Chairman, Jerome Powell, after previously suggesting there we could see several rate cuts this year, only recently authorized one rate reduction of 0.50%.
